Qualifications:
Grade 10
Valid Forklift License

Experience:

At least 1 year experience as a forklift driver within a warehouse environment

Skills:

Valid Code 10/14 driver’s licence
Basic maths skills
Ability to read and write English
Ability to lift up to 50lbs

MAIN ACTIVITIES OF THIS ROLE:

1.Operate a forklift in tight spaces and work well in a fast paced environment:

Stacking, loading, offloading and short distance transporting of products
Drive forklift in an appropriate, safe manner with regard to fellow colleagues/visitors, etc.
Assist distribution admin, dispatch and loading teams during periods of downtime, slack time or upon early completion of tasks
Communicate equipment problems to Distribution Centre Manager, providing information such as what equipment, problems,
frequency, etc.
Inform Inventory & Admin Supervisor of any packing problems
Assist in inventory counts monthly/ bi-annually or as Accounting requires
Retrieving specified merchandise from storage as well as packing, sealing, and labeling merchandise accordingly.
Strategically storing merchandise to maximize storage space within the warehouse.
Weighing merchandise and selecting appropriate envelopes, boxes, containers, or crates in which to pack merchandise.
Clean up work area and disposing of waste materials
Using forklifts, hand carts, or pallet jacks to load, unload, move, stack, and arrange merchandise accordingly.
Perform other work-related duties as assigned

Responsible for reporting any Injury on duty to immediate subordinates
Responsible for adhering to health and safety regulations and standards
Responsible for wearing protective gear

3.Quality Output:

Responsible to deliver quality output

4.General:

Responsible for protecting company assets
Any other reasonable task assigned
