A key part of our service is our monthly live events we host with clients who are part of the LifeCheq community. We produce high-quality engaging content featuring our own research, guest speakers, book launches and more to inspire and inform our clients.

If you are successful in this role, you will be playing a key part in building one of the fastest-growing communities of professionals, entrepreneurs, and business owners in SA.

To be successful, you need to know how to build relationships, network and bring people together both online and offline. This is not a role for someone who likes to sit at their computer, or someone who is scared of technology – you need to be energetic, sociable and tech-savvy. You need to be self-directed and a good organizer.

In this role you will:

Plan, organize and coordinate events and ensure they run smoothly and professionally, in line with the high standard already established at LifeCheq
Socialize with and engage clients and their guests during the events, and introduce new guests to the LifeCheq service and community
Work closely with the sales and consultant team to drive new sign-ups at events
Build relationships with key LifeCheq partners and clients to drive attendance at LifeCheq events
Identify existing communities to grow LifeCheq’s audience with, and build and nurture these relationships
Help write our bi-monthly newsletters to let people know about our events and also share some of our content
Create ongoing engagement on social media before, during and after events to drive interest in LifeCheq and our events
Manage social media responses and queries
Write posts and share interesting content to create and sustain interest in the event
Share videos, photos, quotes and other content post the event to drive interest in subsequent events and grow our audience size * Play a role in connecting clients and finding ways for clients to gain more value from being part of the LifeCheq community
Get feedback from clients post-event

You will be measured on the following key performance indicators:

Event engagement & attendance
Client acquisition from events
Lead acquisition from online activity
Community size: Page likes, email database size, social media followers
Client and team feedback on the quality of the events

Other requirements for this role:

At least a 3-year university degree
Some experience in marketing, events or content management is an advantage
A professional demeanour, with an outgoing and sociable personality
Excellent planning and organizing skills
Self-driven and ability to take initiative
You will need to monitor social media pages after hours and on weekends, and escalate any issues that emerge. Support will be available in a given week when you’re on leave or not available, but you will need to be generally responsive
You will also need to travel regularly between Cape Town and Johannesburg (at least once a month) when events are held
