Senior Accountant required immediately: Salary R20 000 per month
Job purpose
An Accountant helps businesses make critical financial decisions by collecting, tracking, and correcting the company’s finances. They are responsible for financial audits, reconciling bank statements, and ensuring financial records are accurate throughout the year. You should be confident, a self-starter, with the ability to operate in a dynamic environment, demonstrate good attention to detail, good judgment showing logical decision making, and a hands-on approach.
Managing the processes and outputs of Accounts Receivables, Payables and Ledger reconciliations, including cashbooks and all other ledger accounts
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Gathering and monitoring financial data (e.g. sales revenues and liabilities)
Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual statements (balance sheets and income statements)
Forecasting costs and revenues
Preparation of budgets, forecasts and cash flows
Maintenance of financial ledgers and accounting processes
Preparation of Monthly Consolidated P&L and Balance Sheet
Timely production of statutory and internal financial reports
Financial modeling and analysis
Cash management and treasury duties
Ensuring that appropriate systems and internal controls are implemented and maintained.
Overseeing the Payroll process
Preparation of VAT returns.
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Work experience as an Accountant
Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting
Principles (GAAP)
Hands-on experience with accounting software like sage 200 evolution
Experience with general ledger functions, inventory, and cashbooks
Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting or Related qualification, Postgrad Diploma in Financial Management and qualification of CIMA/ACCA is preferred
